Abrasive Blasting

Mobile Washer uses a variety of abrasive materials to properly prepare surfaces, including, sand , coal slag, walnut shells, corn cobs, soda, and dry-ice. Depending on the substrate, water can also be injected into the blast stream to minimize dust. This is referred to as wet-blasting.

Abrasive, or more commonly referred to as Sandblasting, is the operation of forcibly propelling a stream of abrasive material against a surface under high pressure to smooth a rough surface, roughen a smooth surface, shape a surface, or remove surface coatings or contaminants.

Common Applications:

- Coating Removal /Surface Preparation
- Exterior Structure Restoration
- Water Treatment Facilities
- Disaster Restoration

Soda Blasting

Soda Blasting is a very effective application in the removal of smoke residue, mildew, coatings, grease, rust, and graffiti. Soda blasting is a process where sodium bicarbonate is applied against a surface using compressed air.

Soda is also an environmentally soluble material and is safe to use on a variety of substrates including wood, masonry, and steel. Another benefit when blasting steel surfaces with soda, is that the blast residue leaves a protective coating on the surface, inhibiting the formation of rust prior to coating.

Common Applications

- Graffiti Removal
- Disaster Restoration
- Boat Hull Cleaning
- Coating Removal/Surface Preparation
- Masonry Cleaning and Restoration
- Industrial Equipment Maintenance

Corn Cob Blasting

Corn Cob Blasting grit is a safe blasting media for delicate surfaces and is the preferred blasting media for log homes and other wood surfaces. Corn cob grit abrasive will remove surface contamination, debris and coatings with little to no impact on the substrate.

Corn cob is a biodegradable, organic blasting media that is obtained from the hard woody ring of the cob. It is resistant to break down and can be re-used multiple times in the blasting process.

Corn cob is available in a variety of grit sizes and presents no health or environmental hazards. Virtually dust-free blasting with no sparking leaves a clean and dry surface.

Common Applications:

- Cedar and Log Siding Restoration
- Coating Removal and Surface Preparation

Dry Ice Blasting

Dry Ice Blasting is an environmentally friendly cleaning and restoration process that contains no secondary contaminants such as solvents or grit media. It is also non-abrasive, nonflammable and nonconductive cleaning method, that makes it safe to use on a variety of sensitive electrical, mechanical, and industrial equipment.

Because there is no secondary residue to reclaim and contaminate surrounding areas, most items can be cleaned in place without time-consuming disassembly or preparation.

Dry Ice blasting can also be used without damaging active electrical or mechanical parts or creating fire hazards. Hence, it is especially effective in industrial settings in removing production residues, release agents, contaminants, paints, oils and biofilms from a variety of surfaces.

Common Applications:

- Disaster Restoration
- Coating Removal/Surface Preparation
- Masonry Cleaning and Restoration
- Industrial Equipment & Facility Maintenance
- Food Processing Facility & Equipment Maintenance
